Self Guarded Manganese (SGM) and Rail Bound Manganese (RBM) Frogs

MSR offers complete rebuild of frogs of any size.

Our SGM and RBM frog services include crack detection and extraction, removal of work hardened sections, weld build up, hardness testing, verification and correction of wheel flange and running surfaces, fastener renewal and rail repair or replacement as required.

Manganese Diamond Inserts

MSR offers complete rebuild of diamond inserts and fabrication of diamond legs.

Our manganese insert services include crack detection and extraction, removal of work hardened sections, application of approved backing plates, weld build up, hardness testing, and the machining of wheel flange and running surfaces.

Complete new retarders & replacement parts 

MSR manufacturers complete new retarders.

Our inert retarder services can include; the renewing of the traffic and abrasion rails, lever arm and support castings, springs, nuts, bolts, washers and pins. 

Finished units are serialized and have their spring forces and operational characteristics verified.

Switch Stands; 22P, 22E, 17B, 31B & 36D 

Switch stand overhaul services include crack detection and repair, straightening, weld build up and machining, line boring and the installation of hardened bushings or other machined parts where required. 

MSR Manufactures new spare parts for switch stands including; handles, masts, targets, keepers, and mast extensions.
